James DeMonaco has his tried-and-tested style, which he remains faithful to today. The cast is also extremely convincing in their roles. I sat in the cinema for a long time after the movie ended, reflecting on my thoughts, and returned home in a calm and meditative mood. The Purge: Anarchy without doubt has excellent dialogoues. I walked into this movie totally blind. I knew nothing about it, even never saw a trailer... That movie sticks out in my mind with how good it was. Maybe because I just didn't expect it. A couple are driving home when their car breaks down just as the Purge commences. Meanwhile, a police sergeant goes out into the streets to get revenge on the man who killed his son, and a mother and daughter run from their home after assailants destroy it. The five people meet up as they attempt to survive the night in Los Angeles.
